Most lawyers don’t need the added pressure of a New Year’s resolution.You’re already disciplined, committed, and holding yourself to an exceptionally high standard.But as 2025 comes to an end, it’s impossible to avoid that familiar pressure to “reset”, “recharge” and “hit the ground running”. Let’s stop, breathe and take a moment. (Stay with me here) Before the festivities wind down and you start thinking about next years goals, targets, or that never-ending to-do-list, let me ask you this: It might be: A conversation you’ve been avoiding. A working pattern that no longer fits your life or your team. A role you’ve outgrown but haven’t acknowledged. A version of success you never chose.
None of these show up on a KPI dashboard but all of them affect your energy, confidence, and performance. You don’t need to fix anything. You just need to notice what’s true for you.
